Stop Worrying About What the Medical Schools Think | Chicago Meetup

Today, you get to come along to a premed meetup I hosted in Chicago! I answer a bunch of common questions about how to get into medical school and succeed on your path to being a physician.

For more of this content, be sure to subscribe, hit that notification bell, and check out all our Meded Media podcasts at !

Here are some of the topics I cover in the video:

• Why you need to get out there and collaborate with others premeds—not just study for the MCAT in your room.
• Why you should stop stressing about all these details that are so micro-focused on your premed path.
• What counts as clinical experience?
• Why you need consistency in your clinical experience over time.
• Tips for the first year of medical school: Can you do anything to prepare?
• Why I think the MCAT is the hardest exam on the path to becoming a physician.
• What qualifies as a "disadvantaged background" on a med school application? And why do medical schools care?
• How can you prepare for the multiple mini interview (MMI)?
• Why every kind of medical school interview is fundamentally just a conversation.
• The power of telling your story as a med school applicant.

I really like videos like this where you walk around and talk to people! I’D really like to see more of these! It’s nice seeing vids on how to be supportive to your fellow pre meds.
